Reigning Colour

The "Iris" - the name of the Greek goddess of the rainbow has lent her name to a flower with a wide range of rainbow colours. The iris first appears some 3,500 years ago in a stone carving in Egypt. The Greeks carried them when they colonized distant shores. The array of colour, particularly after a rain makes, them majestic creations in the garden stage.
