Renewal (30” by 36” canvas, 32” by 38” framed) The earth is alive and you can smell, feel and hear the sounds of life. Nature transforms itself in untamed places. The primordial energy moves the soul and provides solace. I thought of Emily Carr with admiration and her adventures in the west coast rainforest and was inspired by the energy of roots, hanging moss and growth. It takes 20 lifetimes for a cedar to emerge from the old fallen trunk of a nurse log and they are magnificent to see.
